Howdy!
I’ve spent most of my life telling stories. I just didn’t always know that was what I was doing.
I’m a writer, photographer, mother, grandmother, and a woman whose life has taken more than a few unexpected turns. I’ve lived through beautiful seasons as well as devastating ones. I’ve started over more times than I ever planned to, and learned that sometimes the life we thought we were building has to fall apart before we can see what was there the whole time.
For years, I told stories through photographs. I photographed weddings, families, homes, ordinary moments, and once-in-a-lifetime ones.
My first book, inJustice, was published in 2019 under the pen name Abbey M. Blue. I wasn’t quite ready to use my own name just yet.
My newest book, Pop’s Place: What Remains, is different. It is my way of unveiling a mask and screaming from the mountaintop. Of who I am.
It began as a story about a house and the people who filled it. But as I wrote, I realized I was writing about loss, family, addiction, friendship, forgiveness, starting over, and the strange ways God can use the broken pieces of our lives to lead us home.
Faith is at the center of my life. Not because I have everything figured out. I don’t. But because I know who stayed when everything else fell away.
Jesus did.
And that changed the way I understand my story.
These days, I’m still writing, still taking pictures, still traveling when I can, still finding my way into whatever comes next. I love old photographs, back roads, places with stories, conversations that go deeper than expected, and the little details most people walk right past.
I believe there is beauty worth noticing even in difficult places. I believe our stories matter. And I believe that as long as there is breath, there is hope.
